Call for Scores - 2026

Organized by Trio Revolution & Manufaktur der Künste

Manufaktur der Künste, a festival that unites music, fashion, and artistic vision within the historic atmosphere of Vienna’s Zacherlfabrik, together with Trio Revolution (flute, cello, piano), is pleased to announce an international composition competition.

We invite composers of all ages and nationalities to submit new works for flute, cello, and piano. The winning composition will be given its world premiere during the Festival 2026 in Vienna, Austria.

Conditions of Participation:

• Instrumentation: Flute, Cello, Piano
• Duration: approx. 15 minutes
• Submission Deadline: March 15, 2026 (00:00 CET)

Required Materials:
 

• Full score (PDF format only)
• MIDI file (mandatory)

• Jury: Members of Trio Revolution
• Results Announcement: March 31, 2026

Prize

The winner of the competition will receive:

• €2.000 cash prize 
• World premiere at the 2026 Festival in Vienna
• Professional audio & video recording of the premiere performance
• Possibility of additional performances in Trio Revolution’s international concert calendar

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted via the official application form available on our website. Each applicant will be asked to provide basic personal details, a short biography, and program notes for their composition, as well as to upload:

1. Full score (PDF) – legible and clearly formatted
2. MIDI file – required for consideration

At the end of the form, applicants will be asked to confirm that their work is original, unpublished, and has not been previously performed, and to agree to the competition’s terms and conditions.

If you encounter any difficulties with the form, you may instead send your submission directly by email, including all required documents and information, to: festival@manufakturderkuenste.com. Please use the subject line: “Call for Scores 2026 – [Your Name]”.

Important Notes:

• Each composer may submit only one work.
• Works that do not meet the stated requirements (instrumentation, duration, or materials) will not be considered.
• The decision of the jury is final; no correspondence regarding the results will be entered into.
• By applying, composers agree to grant Trio Revolution and the Manufaktur der Künste the right to premiere the work at the festival and to use the recording for non-commercial promotional purposes.

Manufaktur der Künste, ein Festival, das Musik, Mode und künstlerische Vision in der historischen Atmosphäre der Wiener Zacherlfabrik verbindet, schreibt in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Trio Revolution (Flöte, Violoncello, Klavier) einen internationalen Kompositionswettbewerb aus.

Eingeladen sind Komponist:innen aller Altersgruppen und Nationalitäten, neue Werke für Flöte, Violoncello und Klavier einzureichen. Die Gewinnerkomposition wird beim Festival 2026 in Wien uraufführt.

Teilnahmebedingungen:

• Besetzung: Flöte, Violoncello, Klavier
• Dauer: ca. 15 Minuten
• Einreichfrist: 15. März 2026, 00:00 MEZ

Erforderliche Unterlagen:
 

• Partitur (nur als PDF)
• MIDI-Datei (obligatorisch)

• Jury: Mitglieder des Trio Revolution
• Bekanntgabe der Ergebnisse: 31. März 2026

Preis

Die Gewinnerin / der Gewinner erhält:

• 2.000 € Preisgeld
• Uraufführung beim Festival 2026 in Wien
• Professionellen Audio und Videomitschnitt der Aufführung
• Möglichkeit weiterer Aufführungen im internationalen Konzertkalender des Trio Revolution

Bewerbung

Die Bewerbung erfolgt über das offizielle Online Formular auf unserer Website. Dort werden die Bewerber:innen gebeten, grundlegende persönliche Angaben, eine kurze Biografie sowie Werkangaben einzureichen und folgende Materialien hochzuladen:

1. Partitur (PDF) – leserlich und klar formatiert
2. MIDI-Datei – obligatorisch für die Berücksichtigung

Am Ende des Formulars bestätigen die Bewerber:innen, dass es sich um ein originales, unveröffentlichtes und bislang nicht aufgeführtes Werk handelt, und stimmen den Wettbewerbsbedingungen zu.

Sollten beim Ausfüllen des Formulars technische Probleme auftreten, können die Unterlagen auch direkt per E-Mail eingereicht werden: festival@manufakturderkuenste.com

Bitte verwenden Sie hierfür den Betreff: „Kompositionswettbewerb 2026 – [Ihr Name]“.

Wichtige Hinweise:

• Pro Person darf nur ein Werk eingereicht werden.
• Werke, die nicht den angegebenen Anforderungen (Besetzung, Dauer, Unterlagen) entsprechen, werden nicht berücksichtigt.
• Die Entscheidung der Jury ist endgültig; ein Rechtsweg ist ausgeschlossen.
• Mit der Bewerbung erklären sich die Teilnehmer:innen einverstanden, dass das Werk im Rahmen des Festivals uraufgeführt wird und der Mitschnitt zu nicht-kommerziellen Promotionszwecken von Trio Revolution und der Manufaktur der Künste verwendet werden darf.
