Michele Allegro, italian composer-pianist born in 1990, winner of the first-prize of the 12th edition of the prestigious “Garth Newel Inetrantional Composition Competion and the Glorvina and Richard Lynn prize 2026 for the new music, <<Allegro succes s in the Garth Newel international Composition

Competition solidifies his standing as a noteworthy voice in the contemporary classical music>> “EarRelevant” Mark Gresham.


Allegro is recognized for the great rhythmical energy and dynamic nature of his music, which expertly blends American Minimalism, Jazz, Pop Music, Baroque, and 20th-century European compositional traditions. “We loved Rush’s energy, says Jeanette Fang, Garth Newel Piano Quartet’s pianist

and director of the competition, “it grabbed our attention right away with its bold expressiveness, rhythmic strength, and brilliant ensemble writing”.


His music is regularly performed in Italy, United States, Portugal, Poland, Belgium, Austria, and Asia. He is the winner of numerous prestigious awards including the “12° Garth Newel Composition Competition 2026- Virginia (U.S.A)”, “Manufaktur der Künste Call for Score 2026- Vienna- Austria”, “Premier Orchestral Institute 2025 Composition Competition” in Jackson-Mississippi (U.S.A), "NU Quintet call for score" - New

York (U.S.A), 2nd prize at the "Sax and Willas Composers Composition Competition" in Stettin, Poland, "Art

Ventus Quintet - Call for score" in Aveiro – Portugal, "Dante Moro International Composition Competition" Italy, "Ensamble for these time (E4tt) Call for score" Los Angeles- California (U.S.A), "Musica nel silenzio Composition Competition”-Italy, 2nd prize at the "Amadeus Composition Award"-Vienna, special mention at the "Composition Competition of the Academy of Classical Music-Vienna", finalist at the “Sola Call for Score” in Tokyo-Japan.


His compositions have been performed by leading chamber groups and orchestras, including the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra, Master Camerata, Impression Saxophone Ensemble, Dolomithy Symphony Orchestra, Garth Newel Quartet, Art'Ventus Quintet, Trio Revolution, Nu Quintet, Exclusive Trio, Kgl.St.Gregorius Kirchencor Kelmis. 


He has collaborated with international conductors and soloists, including: German Gutierrez, Crafton Beck, Marcos Machado, Darek Samol, Delio Cassetta, Silvia Tessari, Francisco Villa, Borislava Iltcheva, and Dale Tsang. He has participated in international festivals as composer-in-residence, including the "Reencontros de Musica Contemporanea" in Aveiro, the "International Saxophone Festival of Szczecin," "P.o.i Week" in Jackson, Mississippi and “Emerging Artst Fellowship” Grath Newel Music Center-

Hot Springs –Virginia. 


His compositions have been performed at major national and international theaters and concert halls, including Cary Hall in New York, the Gertrude C. Ford Academic Complex at Millsaps College- Jackson Mississipi, Piano Club in Berkeley-Los Angeles, Willa Lentza-Stettin, Teatro degli Animosi-Carrarra,

Palazzina Liberty-Milan, Sala Koncertowa Akademia Sztuki-Stettin Poland, Auditorium del Carmine-Parma,, Teatro Aveirense-Aveiro, Casa Familia Oliveira Guimares, and Palazzo Roderio. 


He edited the abridgement for Harp and Piano of J. Waghensail's "Concerto for Harp and String Orchestra"

published by Stella Mattutina Edizioni. He has also published works by Curci Edizioni of Milan. He has recorded and published an album of piano compositions entitled "Reminiscenze".


Allegro is also active as a solo pianist and in chamber music groups, he has performed as an orchestral soloist, performing Beethoven's Third Piano Concerto and Rachamaninov's Second Piano Concerto. He has collaborated with contemporary music orchestras, performing works for the first time. He recorded L.Mosca's “American Songs”,  a world premiere with the "O.M.C." for Radio Tre Suite at the “Bologna Festival”. 


Allegro actually is Piano Professor at the “R-Levi Montalcini” middle school in Partanna-Italy.
